Overview[]

August 31 (八月三十一号, Bā yuè sānshíyī hào) is a Chinese Yume Nikki Fangame created by Yongdao Zhiping in RPG Maker 2003. It stars Huá Jū, who seems to be a high school student.

Gameplay[]

August 31 plays like most Yume Nikki fangames, except that there are some events that have dialogue with other characters, one of which will unlock a third nexus door and the debug room; you need to interact with the middle of the dream room's painting to access it. It seems you can do this without collecting any of the effects.

The game has little to no music, the few of them being midis. There appears to be some ending, though it is inaccessible by normal means.

Like most fangames, there doesn't seem to be any plot in the game.

Effects[]

Effect	Image	Description
Flowering Branch (花枝)		Huá Jū holds a Sakura tree branch. Pressing Shift makes him move faster/slower. This effect is buggy and might not always work as expected.
Violation (违反)		Huá Jū wears freely collocate clothes.
Hydrocephalus (脑进水)		Huá Jū's hair and half-head becomes a fishbowl with water in it.
Marīcī/Sun Flame (阳焰)		Huá Jū appears glitched, with neon lights and numbers on his sprite.
Burin (刻刀)		Huá Jū holds a burin, a chisel for engraving on tombstones.

Unused Effects[]

These effects are fully implemented, one of them can be found in Debug Room.They will probably be added into the dream world in the future.
