Overview

CATABASIS is an English Yume Nikki fangame created by a group under the name SEMI-COLON. It was developed in RPG Maker MZ for Dream Diary Jam 6.

Gameplay

CATABASIS plays like a traditional fangame. Stepping onto the pentacle by the door sends the player to the afterlife, while interacting with the open book in the room allows players to save.

The game has two major goals; one is to obtain Pentacles (also called Summons) which can provide new abilities that allow players to progress through the game, and to obtain four different body parts scattered in the different circles of the afterlife to obtain the ending.

Plot

You play as Carrie (name can be changed by the player) and descend into the afterlife to save your brother.

Summons (Effects)

Name	Image	Description
Invisibilly		Carrie becomes invisible save for a white outline, allowing her to evade chasers.
Alkonost		Carrie has angel wings and a halo. Pressing W makes Carrie fly forward. This effect can be used to cross gaps where a specific symbol is placed on the ground.
Blaziel	N/A	Summons the angel Blaziel, killing non-distinct NPCs in the area.
Tyraniel		Carrie becomes a one-eyed black monster. Some NPCs will move away from her when this summon is equipped.
F		A fiery shield with wings surrounds Carrie. This summon lights up dark areas.
Pinky		Carrie has a brighter color palette and a halo.
