Overview

Bokehme is an English Yume Nikki fangame made in RPG Maker VX Ace for Dream Diary Jam 5. The game was created by sheolsoft.

Gameplay

Bokehme follows a traditional fangame format. Instead of a bedroom, the player starts out in a computer-like menu where they can either sleep, save or look at photos. Photos can be obtained in the dreamworld by taking photographs in areas with a camera icon in them. The primary goal of the game is to explore and find effects.

The dream world can be affected by the player character's emotions (signified by the photo on the left side of the menu) and the day of the week (which moves forward when the player wakes up).

The original release leaned further on the traditional fangame format, with the dream world being accessed by going to bed and saving being accessed by the dream diary on the desk.

Plot

You play as Bokehme. The game tells you to collect dolls scattered around your dream world.

Dolls (Effects)

Effect	Image	Description
Bike		Bokehme rides a bike, doubling her speed.
Camera		Bokehme holds a camera. Pressing Q makes her take a photo, causing the screen to flash briefly. Used to obtain photos.
Mask		Bokehme wears a mask. Pressing Q changes the mask's appearance, also changing Bokehme's emotional state.
Coat		Bokehme wears a raincoat. Pressing Q makes rain fall.
Demon		Bokehme becomes a demon. Pressing Q makes a demon noise.
Drum		Bokehme's head becomes a drum. Pressing Q beats the drum, shaking Bokehme around.
Shadow		Bokehme becomes a shadow. Pressing Q inverts her colors, switch between black and white.
Squid		Bokehme becomes a squid. She can walk across some bodies of water.
Wired		Bokehme wears white clothes with black wiring over them. Pressing Q returns her to the Nexus.
